Editorial Policy
What we publish, and what we will not.
Noctias is a directory written for readers, not for the houses we list. This document is the contract that backs that claim.
Independence
No house listed on Noctias has paid for its placement, its ranking, or its editorial copy. The order in which houses appear in any list reflects our editorial judgment — informed by hands-on use, performer roster, billing transparency, and how each house handles support and refund requests.
Where we earn affiliate revenue from a partner, that fact is disclosed on the page where it appears. We never disclose only some commercial relationships — every outbound link that pays us is marked with rel="sponsored" and the page footer carries a permanent commission disclosure.
Conflict of interest
The editor of Noctias has no ownership stake in any cam, dating, video, or pleasure-goods company referenced on the site. We accept no equity, no advisory roles, no product gifts conditional on coverage. Public-relations agencies pitching coverage will not receive it; we do not run sponsored content disguised as editorial.
We do receive complimentary press accounts from some platforms (this is industry-standard for review work). Press accounts let us evaluate without the friction of repeated billing, but do not give us access that paying users do not have. Coverage of platforms that grant press accounts is not more favourable than coverage of platforms that do not.
What we refuse to publish
- Any service that hosts, generates, or distributes depictions of minors. Such services are listed nowhere on this site and never will be.
- Any AI service that lacks meaningful safeguards against impersonating named individuals or generating non-consensual depictions.
- Any cam platform that does not perform reasonable age and identity verification of its performers.
- Any service operating in a jurisdiction where the production model would expose performers to criminal prosecution they did not consent to.
- Any platform whose customer service we cannot reach within 72 hours when testing as a paying user.
- Any platform that has charged readers we have heard from for content they did not receive, where the platform refused refund and a reasonable case can be made for refund.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected in place and noted at the bottom of the article. We do not silently edit. If the substance of a review changes (because the platform has changed substantially, or because we found something we did not know at first publication), we update the date and add a note explaining what changed.
Readers and the platforms we cover may request a correction by emailing the editorial address listed on About. We respond to good-faith correction requests within 5 business days.
Affiliate disclosure (the standing one)
Noctias may earn a commission when a reader signs up to, subscribes to, or purchases from a service we have written about. This is how the site is funded; without it the directory does not exist. The commission does not affect the editorial position — we do not list houses we would not list without the commission, and we do not omit houses that do not pay one.
All outbound links to commercially-relevant destinations are routed through /go/ for click tracking and carry rel="sponsored nofollow noopener noreferrer".
Reader privacy
Noctias does not require sign-up. We do not store reader email addresses unless the reader voluntarily provides one. The age-gate cookie remembers your confirmation locally for 90 days; it is not shared with third parties. Our outbound click tracker records that a click happened (timestamp, geography at country level, the referring article) but does not link clicks to any individual reader.
Anything else we collect is covered in detail on Privacy.
